Week 07 · Public field notes

Humans, Being and Kindness

Kindness as relational infrastructure is not niceness with a soft-focus filter. It has consequences.

Orientation

What are we disturbing?

Week 7 treats kindness as specific recognition, connection, transformation, boundary, and responsibility. The work is not to avoid friction but to change conditions with care.

Signal traces

Live wires

  • Recognition becomes meaningful when it is specific enough to alter how someone is met.
  • A boundary can be kind because access is not the same thing as care.
  • Kindness is accountable when it changes a condition rather than merely improving the atmosphere.

Held in relation

In the living classroom

Sweetgrass work remains a Maya-led class route until an approved public address exists, alongside live discussion about kindness and boundaries.

Public boundary: The public station does not copy Sweetgrass material or other live teachings; it names their place in the classroom without creating a false route.

Optional machine route

Try this with a machine

Bring the source discipline with you. The machine can help the question move, but it does not become the source.

The prompt remains visible for manual copying.

Leave with this unresolved

How can a response be kind and still refuse the false comfort of making everything feel fine?
